IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CHINA WATCH CLIENTS
Effective 03 August 2009
Following a strategic publishing review, Intelligence Research Limited (IRL) has decided to concentrate on its Latin American publishing resources and to discontinue its provision of the China Watch Service with immediate effect. However, I am delighted to tell you that the world-renowned Financial Times has agreed to provide all existing China Watch subscribers with continued access to the FT’s CHINA CONFIDENTIAL service – a premium subscription newsletter and website - at no extra cost for the remainder of your subscription term.
The above change in arrangements will take place on 3rd August 2009. Full archive access to China Watch resources will continue to be available to paid subscribers online until 31 Dec 2009, via a special link that IRL will provide to you through CHINA CONFIDENTIAL.
CHINA CONFIDENTIAL, backed by the full resources of The Financial Times Limited (the “Financial Times” or “FT”), provides an information service on China that is of the highest possible quality. It is a digital newsletter and accompanying website, offering premium, exclusive analysis and predictions on investment themes. Using a dedicated FT team of specialists in China and the UK, it taps Chinese sources from the grassroots to the political elite to forecast key trends and issues. It conducts its own consumer polls and industry surveys to supply all-important primary research. By filtering the work of the best Chinese analysts and academics, it keeps you current on key debates as they unfold inside mainland China. The newsletter publishes every two weeks, with regular update alerts published on the dedicated website and delivered by email.
CHINA CONFIDENTIAL is edited by James Kynge, a former FT Bureau Chief in China, where he has lived for a total of 16 years, most recently heading up the Pearson Group of 11 companies' China operations. During this time, he was also President of FTChinese.com and FT Rui Magazine. His award-winning book, "China Shakes the World", published in 2006, was an international bestseller translated into 19 languages. He is a regular speaker on China, with recent keynote addresses to investor conferences held by Goldman Sachs, UBS, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, CLSA and Standard Bank.
You can find out more about the FT’s CHINA CONFIDENTIAL service by visiting its dedicated website, at http://www.ftchinaconfidential.com/. As an introduction to the service, Intelligence Research Limited will make available to you the 6th August 2009 edition of CHINA CONFIDENTIAL under licence from the Financial Times. The Financial Times will contact you on or around 10th August 2009 to provide you with details of how to access your new CHINA CONFIDENTIAL subscription on an ongoing basis for the remainder of your China Watch subscription period and more details about how to make the most of the full service. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ASIA INTELLIGENCE SERVICE CLIENTS
Effective 03 August 2009
Following a detailed review Intelligence Research Ltd (IRL) has made a decision to enhance and expand our Latin American Intelligence Services. However, to achieve this strategy it was also decided to find a suitable partner of the highest quality to take on IRL’s Asia Intelligence Service.
Accordingly, I am very pleased to announce that as from Monday 3rd August the Asia Intelligence Service has been acquired by Business Monitor International – leading providers of country-risk and macroeconomic intelligence on Asia.
Business Monitor International (BMI) was incorporated in 1984, and has customers and clients in over 130 countries worldwide, including more than 400 of the Global Fortune 500 companies. Businesses, banks, financial services companies, governments, academics and research centres have all come to rely on BMI's analysis, data and forecasts - and have done so for 25 years.
BMI will be integrating the AIS service into Business Monitor Online Asia Country Risk service (www.businessmonitor.com/bmo/asia). This service provides unparalleled coverage of country markets across Asia, featuring intra-daily news analysis; political and economic risk assessment; strategic views on currency and debt developments; systematic macroeconomic forecasts over a 5-year horizon; country-comparative risk ratings; Asia market research; analysis on Asia companies; Asia industry trends; and rigorous benchmarking of the business environment.
Full archive access to AsiaInt resources will continue to be available to paid subscribers online until 31 Dec 2009, via a special link that IRL will provide to you through BMI.
Your subscription to AIS will be automatically transferred to BMI, free of charge and existing subscription periods will be fully honored. You need not do anything. BMI will be contacting you in due course to properly introduce your new subscription service and provide web access details. However, if you have any queries in the interim, please contact Lyan Chan, Customer Services Manager at BMI on + 44 (0) 207 246 5174 or lchan@businessmonitor.com.
